WHERE TO EAT AL FRESCO IN DELRAY BEACH

Luckily for us, the weather in Delray Beach is beautiful annually, which lends itself to year round alfresco dining. Nearly all of our Downtown restaurants offer some sort of outdoor seating, but the two we’re honing in on here do it spectacularly and are truly unparalleled.

Starting with Dada, an award winning Delray Beach restaurant established in 2000, currently in their 20th season serving the city. Situated in the historic 1920’s era Tarrimore house just off Atlantic Avenue on historic Swinton Avenue, Dada is as much eclectic as it is modern. Dining in the historic home is delightfully intimate, as the integrity of the home remains in tact, and each room reveals revolving artwork to compliment the cuisine. But the pièce de résistance is the stunning Banyan tree out front that anchors the surrounding outdoor seating. The menu is thoughtful and the ingredients are sustainably sourced. Dada is perfect for a night out with friends, or an intimate date with someone special.

Taru at Sundy House is the latest addition to the Delray Beach culinary scene. Like Dada, Taru is located in an historic property as well. The 1902 Sundy House has been an iconic landmark in Delray for 118 years and is the oldest house in Delray Beach. Surrounded by an acre of botanical gardens, there’s no question that this property provides the perfect backdrop for outdoor dining. Throw in one of Palm Beach County’s top chefs, James Strine, and you have a recipe for success. Taru brings back the heart and soul of Sundy House with its ‘New Florida Cuisine’ concept.
